I generally prefer hearty greens, that I can cook the hell out of. But walking by this bin of baby lettuce, I was struck by the beauty of these tiny little leaves and just had to snap a photo. The woman who saw me snapping the photo mentioned that she loves these little greens — a mix of sweet and bitter, soft and crisp. I don’t often eat raw salad greens, but I know I should be eating more. This is as good a time to start as any.
