Viva La Comida! A Music And Food Festival

Viva La Comida!

Last Friday was the first ever Viva La Comida! A street festival held at the Dunningham Triangle by the 82nd Street Partnership. Just by looking at the amount of people that attended and the long ass lines for each food vendors (heard the Arepa Lady had a 50min long line), people really craved for a street fest in that part of town. Heck, it brought many of us Brooklyn people out to Queens. Congrats again to the 82nd Street Partnership and Jeff Orlick (for curating the list of food vendors). Can’t wait till the next one!

Check out my photo recap after the jump…

Food from The Chipper Truck (Bronx). Hello! Fried beer battered sausages, with a dash of salt and vinegar, were awesome and were more awesome after dipping into the delicious curry sauce.

Viva La Comida!
Xin Jiang Prosperity Kebabs (Manhattan). I couldn’t get enough of her lamb kebabs at the Vendy but on Friday I decided to try something else, chicken kidneys and squid. Both tasted great and cheap. Perfect snacky size too.

The famous Arepa Lady herself, churning out her popular arepas. Lucky for me I got to the festival around 5:45p and my friend, Brian Hoffman, was already in line. I simply asked him to get one for me. Even though we were there early, we still waited a good 20mins before getting our arepas.
