This is usually what happens when I eat out with my friends. Fingers pointing at the food. And they usually like to keep pointing until I snap a photo. Sometimes we have a battle on which of us will give in first, like a staring contest.
Last week we went to check out Reynards (and The Ides bar while we were waiting for out table) at the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg. Being part of the Diner, Marlow and Sons…empire, the food was great and I may have had the most delicious Dark and Stormy ever. The night included pitchers of wine, perfectly cooked octopus and a comforting chicken dish.
Surprisingly, our wait for a table for 6, without reservation, on a Tuesday night was only 30mins. So we spent 30mins at the patio area at The Ides Bar which included a beautiful view of the NYC skyline (the view does not get old even after living here for 10 years).
We shared 2 orders of the egg with mayo (yes mayo!), fries and an order of the octopus. The octopus was delightful.
A meal at Reynards is definitely a once-in-a-while treat. Probably a good place to take your parents to and hopefully they’ll pay for it. The food there is quite pricey especially for someone like me that tends to eat a lot. I was still hungry after dinner.
Though in the end my friends and I had a great time. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the drinks were all excellent.
